Telling the story of nib’s community impact

nib foundation

The brief

strategic copywriting • impact storytelling •
report writing • visual design & layout • ghostwriting

Over eight years, nib foundation ran the Prevention Partnerships Program that supported 19 community organisations to help people make changes to their long-term health.

We captured the program’s legacy in a report that highlights its impact on the health of Australians.

The vision was for the report to be driven by stories and impact rather than dollar figures. So numbers and KPIs from project documents were turned into clear, credible stories for shareholders, government, tender panels and nib members.

“The document absolutely reflects the original vision we'd had in mind to celebrate these partners in a way that jumps off the page and articulately demonstrates what the foundation's investment in chronic disease prevention has accomplished through our amazing partners.”

— Nicola Smart, nib foundation

Our work

12,000 words, 50 pages and 500 data points were shaped into a concise and impactful 19-page report.

We structured the report around six risk and protective factors set out by nib: alcohol, nutrition, smoking and vaping, mental health, physical activity, and sleep.

But we didn’t force every story into one template. We mixed longer, story-driven case studies with short infographic spotlights, so each partnership could be told in the format that suited it best.

We wrote in plain language, without jargon, in nib’s unique tone of voice.

The result is a landscape PDF report that nib can use in tenders, presentations and digital channels for years to come.

Inkfield distilled detailed project wrap-ups into the core story of impact that nib wanted to tell.

Then, we designed it in line with their brand, to seamlessly fit into their existing communications.
