The brief:
develop inspiring content and engaging channels to raise awareness of the launch of the conference
capture the sense of nostalgia, celebration, optimism and hope, while illuminating the serious challenges facing the women's refuge movement.
Australia’s first women’s refuge was set up by a group of Sydney feminists who broke into two adjoining vacant houses in Glebe. Once inside, they changed the locks and claimed squatter's rights. They called it Elsie Women’s Refuge and it sparked a national movement.
Hosted by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), the Elsie Conference aims to provide a national platform for attendees to celebrate the past and discuss emerging challenges in escaping and reducing domestic violence.
We created an extensive digital resource pack to enable advocate and peak bodies to easily share information about the conference with their networks to build excitement and anticipation.
Our work
Working to the Conference Chair, and Australian feminist icon Professor Anne Summers AO, we devised an achievable communications plan to deliver an engaging conference website, promotional materials and resources within two weeks.
Collaborating with artist and designer Libby Blainey, we coupled her brand design which pays homage to the 1970s, with accessible and impactful copy and web design to draw audiences to register and nominate for an Elsie Award.
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Inkfield. We love the website and are extremely pleased with everything you have done.
